Many matches will come and go, many innings will come and go, many players will come and go.. But only one God will remain and will always be remembered for the greatness he endeavours.. The maestro has proved yet again to the world, his passion for the game and his insatiable hunger..
I am too happy, too excited, too over whelmed to say much here! The news channels are doing enough bragging, to be followed by the newspapers tomorrow morning.. And they will undoubtedly do a much better job.
My friend told me, the happiness quotient of india increases by 3% everytime sachin scores a century.. Today that makes it 6% linearly.. But I am very sure it would be much more than that.
That is the madness for cricket in this country or I should say that is the love for the legend in this country. When I used to read, the man who carries the expectations of billions of Indians, I used to feel proud but could never understand the significance! Had always seen a match at home, at max with 20 people in front of a TV. But today, in office, during work hours I hear a loud shout! I check the scoreboard on cricinfo and YES Sachin on 168 and had hit a six. I gave up. My desire over-powered my responsibilty and I left to see the match. I open the cafetaria gate and what a SCENE! I never knew the capacity of our cafetaria! It was jam packed, people were standing, eyes stuck on the TV and a rising uproar with every glimpse of the man! From workers to managers everyone was in pause mode and moved only to clap when Sachin scored. Finally with all the hoo-haas and the heart beats pacing the land mark was achieved! I felt like taking a pic and sending it to Larry (Our CEO) and tell him "Yeh hai India meri Jaan". I was pondering over the thought when a friend of mine at IIMA told me that they got an early off from a lecture because of the match! And I smiled and thought "Yes, yeh hai India meri jaan!"
When I was a kid, during the matches my brother always used to tell me "If cricket is religion, Sachin is God!" I hardly used to watch cricket then, knew nothing about God and Religion and Sachin was like any other cricketer. But now I know.. And 10 years down the line, the fact still remains.. Undoubtedly, Sachin is God, what so ever you may call cricket!
Wishing my hero for all the years to come and lots of records to be broken and lot more records to be set. Hope he leads his team to a World cup victory and fulfills his last desire before saying good bye to the game.

"Yeh hai India meri jaan." Agreed. Corporate offices to premier management institutions - nothing brings the entire country together in its spirits better than the God with the Willow. And your brother was right "In India cricket is religion, and Sachin is God!"
About the happiness quotient part, you can see for yourself - all around you from networking sites to news channels - people have been only BUZZING about this phenomenon called Sachin. It's got to be a lot more than 6%.
And yes, honestly I felt bad for Dhoni when people booed him. What he did, he did in the interest of the game and the country I am sure. In fact I am pretty sure Sachin and he had a game plan - Sachin would have definitely told him "Let's play our game. The 200 will come." That's the reason why is more than a cricketer - a great person! Glad that they both executed it well.
@Shreetam, AGreed about Dhoni. But that just shows how much the public is crazy about sachin! And at that stage a few less runs wouldnt have cost us anything but just one less run could have prevented a historical mark! I am sure Sachin would be willing to even give that up for the nation.. But yeah, that was not needed..
I can't even feel the intensity that everyone else can.. but
I still have to pity myself that this happened when I was sleeping! :(

Woooo... while reading got into same excitement as while waiting for Sachin's 200.. In office we were all standing behind Soumyajit while everyone was shouting "Arey refresh kar na jaldi..."

About Him!! The best line I read somewhere which his wife has written about him - "I can be hundred per cent sure that Sachin will not play for a minute longer when he is not enjoying himself." That I guess says it all. For Him, its not about his profession/responsibilty/, its just about passion. And passion for 20 years!! Hats off :) Truely a champion. And I still remember his innings (vs Kenya I guess) in world cup after the sad demise of His father. Comes back, scores a ton, wins the match and says - "Thats for you dad". Thats SACHIN!

And yes, I equally support Dhoni for not always keeping the team's goal at the back of his mind... In fact, as I see it, Sachin himself would not have been very amused by the fact that someone is seeing him greater than the country..

even after 2-3 months!!i got goosebumps when i read the post.the same feeling I had when i witnessed it live on TV.
Seriously Sachin is above all...(proved once again yesterday when voted the most influencial man in INDIA above all ..no politican,actor,singer..)
